This is the last post in the series about the modern and bright Curious George themed birthday party I helped plan in August. You can see the dessert table post here. This party was featured on Eat Drink Pretty and Chic & Cheap Nursery. Today it’s all about the details!
We had so much fun planning out the party and the activities. We used several things Lisa already owned including the tables for dessert and the party favors. We also used two Curious George plush animals we had—I had one and Lisa had one. You can get them for $8-$12.

Party favors were obvious to us! It had to be books for toddlers and since Miles, the birthday boy, loves books, this was a great choice.

Lisa found these hard cover board books on Amazon as a set and I just divided them up, added three layers of ribbon and a cute favor tag from Grace & Guy Paperie.

We also used the Curious George birthday surprise book as a guest book. All of Miles’ friends and family wrote inside the book.

This was a simple and inexpensive guest book ($3) option that Miles can keep for a long time. I think a hard cover or board book would hold up longer with kids, but for a budget-friendly option, this worked great.

You can see that one of Miles’ friends clearly wrote a note on the bottom too! :)

Having a few fun activities was a top priority for Lisa, and as a mom, I couldn’t agree more. We had a list of 20 to 25 ideas to start with but we narrowed it down to an art theme because Miles loves art. We purchased a 10-pack of 8×10 canvases from Michaels with a coupon. Great deal! The kids did handprint art with fingerprint.

Shannon from Grace & Guy Paperie also designed a custom coloring sheet for the birthday party.

Most of the kids enjoyed it and this was a very inexpensive add-on to the party. Lisa went all out on buying classic Crayola crayons and then a bunch of fun ones you can see above.

Overall, the party was a smashing success. Everyone had fun, the atmosphere was lovely and the food and drinks were amazing.

The cute baby girl above in the polka-dot dress is Miles’ sister Malia. Such a sweet girl!
And of course, my guy!
